Public Health Officials Report 449 New COVID-19 Cases, No Additional Deaths – Times of San Diego

San Diego County public health officials reported 449 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday and no additional deaths.

The new data brought the county’s case totals to 371,361 since the pandemic began. The death toll remained at 4,218.

Officials noted four new COVID hospitalizations, while two additional patients required intensive care.

Nationally, a high-profile member of the Biden administration tested positive for COVID-19.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who has been vaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and is experiencing mild symptoms, she said in a statement. She added that she was last near President Joe Biden on Tuesday.

The president, who is fully vaccinated and received a booster shot last month, tested negative on Saturday, according to a source.
