LANSING, MI — Eyes remain on the political map changes being proposed by the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, which met in a closed session this week for the first time, raising concerns about the legality of the meeting.

The Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission spent more than an hour behind closed doors discussing secret legal memos pertaining to the Voting Rights Act and the history of voting-related discrimination in Michigan before abruptly adjourning.
